The 90s R'n'B sensation -- real name Brandy Norwood -- was reportedly left furious after only around 40 fans showed up to her concert in the South African capital, leaving the stage after performing just two songs.
The concert, which was held at the end of the day's festivities. was staged as part of the Nelson Mandela Sport and Culture Day, which included rugby and soccer games as well as music.
According to reports, the stadium was filled with people attending the festivities throughout the day, but they headed home shortly before her set began.
South African singer Kabomo was at the stadium at the time of the incident, and took to Twitter to relay his dismay at the tiny crowd.
In a series of tweets he wrote: “I have no words for what I just witnessed... Brandy performed to an empty stadium. With the stadium lights on. She sulked after two songs and walked off... It was late. People didn’t know there was a concert after the games. No one knew Brandy was around. Maybe a 40 people audience (sic)... There are more people there on a random Tuesday... Depressing.”
Well, Brandy said it best when she sang, "Never Say Never". Ouch.
