MYTH: Suge Knight dangled Vanilla Ice off a 20th floor balcony to get the rights to 'Ice Ice Baby'
REALITY: It is definitely true that Vanilla Ice signed over the rights to 'Ice, Ice Baby' to Suge Knight although he has claimed that the threat of being dangled off the balcony was implied rather than actually carried out. Some who were close to the situation at the time disagree, "I wasn't there when it happened, but I was around after it happened. Yeah, it did happen. Definitely," said Rodney O., a former writer for Vanilla Ice. Suge Knight would allegedly go on to use the money from 'Ice Ice Baby' to found Death Row records.
