I can't even type what Prince had been known as in the 90s, but for the sake of ease, everyone referred to the musician as "The Artist Formally Known As Prince". The symbol that was his name, which was a fancy merging of the male (♂) and female (♀) symbols, was also called "Love #2". While Prince certainly doesn't mind making things difficult for journalists and record labels, he eventually reverted back to Prince in the 2000s. Note: Prince is actually his birth name!
