VANILLA ICE 'ICE ICE BABY'

Robert Van Winkle, better known as Vanilla Ice, is remembered as a bit of a 90s pop novelty act, with bad peroxide hair and MC Hammer-style outfits but we forget that he was actually a massive breakthrough artist at the time: 'Ice Ice Baby' was the first Hip Hop song ever to top the Billboard Charts in the US. It was so hot at the time that Suge Knight even allegedly threatened to kill Vanilla Ice if he didn't sign the rights to the song over to him. Ice notched up platinum sales around the world with the single but would never go on to have another hit. Today he is better known for his home renovations TV show.
