CONFIRMED TARGET:Elle McPherson, then Christie Brinkley. Billy Joel identified himself as a working class man tyring to woo a wealthy, 'uptown' girl. Initially written about his girlfriend Elle, it ended up becoming about his fiancee and wife, Christie Brinkley. Either way, we can totally see why Billy thought they might be hard to catch -both women were supermodels during the 1980s.
