During an interview with British comic Stephen Fry for the Financial Times, pop phenomenon Lady Gaga detailed how she actually "went bankrupt" during her Monster Ball tour due to the cost of her elaborate costumes and constantly updated sets.
"I put everything in the show and I actually went bankrupt after the first extension of the [tour]," she said.
"And it was funny because I didn't know! I had five No 1 singles, the Monster Ball's doing great, and they said, 'Well, you're $3 million in debt'."
The New York-born pop star began her tour in 2009 to promote her first album, "The Fame Monster," with the tour finally wrapping in Mexico this month, after 200 shows to more than 2.5 million people.

The 'Born This Way' singer also told Fry that the only big ticket items she bought were "my dad's heart valve and a Rolls-Royce for my parents, for their anniversary."

if the idea of spending money to the point of temporarily becoming bankrupt is necessarily a bad thing then how about we all stop spending and see what happens to the economy then you ungrateful louts. Lady GAGA is more devoted to her art and putting the money she makes from the buying fans back into their experience of her shows rather than lip-syncing, hoarding and keeping money as dead capital- which would you prefer?
