Two years ago Gibb made what he called a 'spectacular' recovery from colon and liver cancer, but a secondary cancer appeared this year, and was further complicated by a case of pneumonia.Gibb passed away on Sunday May 20, aged 62.

Gibb will be remembered for the five decades he spent topping the music charts in family-band, the Bee Gees, which generated record sales in excess of 200 million units. The group's founding members included Gibb's twin brother Maurice and older brother Barry.Maurice Gibb passed away in January 2003, as a result of similar complications with his intestine.
