In an age of celebrity over-exposure in order to engage with your target audience, Rihanna has potentially just stepped into the final realm of the over-sharing frontier.

Sharing a giant-sized Facebook album of holiday photographs with your fans is perhaps the latest weapon in a celebrity's marketing arsenal.

The relative deep-dive into Rihanna's personal downtime is a new way of connecting with fans.

Sure, Rihanna and her fellow social-media savvy celebrities have Facebook and Twitter accounts, but how many of them have gone to so much trouble to reveal their private lives before when they're already a global superstar?

Ri-Ri is effectively making her fans feel like they're in her inner circle, strengthening the bond between the pop-star and her existing audience and paving the way for new fans to connect with her on a more intimate level.

And if there happens to be a new album for sale in the not-too-distant but not-too-soon future, well then lucky them.

But there is a flip side. This over share of holiday happy snaps by Rihanna is likely to leave her fans expecting more and more intimate revelations from the pop-star, as well as from her fellow celebrities.

It may also damage her image with some of her long-standing fans, as the 'real-life' look at Ri-Ri is conveniently timed to coincide with a wrap in production on her latest album, 'Talk that Talk'. Don't mind our scepticism, but publicity boost anyone?

Whatever the cause of the over-share of Rihanna's holiday happy snaps, one thing is for sure. We haven't heard the end of it.
