If you're into She's Got Me, you'll know that Daniel Merriweather really is one to watch this year. On his debut album, he has combined his soulful voice and songwriting talents with notable US musicians and producers.
Produced in New York by superstar US DJ/producer Mark Ronson (Nikka Costa, Sean Paul), Daniel's debut album also features session performances by ?uestlove (The Roots' drummer, and producer for D'Angelo and Erykah Badu), members of the Black Eyed Peas' horn section, and Beck's musicians.
Daniel Merriweather's style combines the best bits of R&B - you'll want to dance to it - and leaves out the worst. The vocals are comfortably far from the bland and cliched lyrics we've heard out of several R&B artists over the last few years. If 'She's Got Me' is anything to go by, we can expect great things when the album is released. Daniel Merriweather is rightfully putting the soul back on the dancefloor.
