Chris Brown has certainly made himself one to watch in 2006 - he rocketed to that ARIA Number 1 spot and held it for weeks. At only 16 years old, he's bound to draw comparisons to those teen R&B stars who've gone before him, Usher, Tevin Campbell even Michael Jackson... One listen though, and you see he's got his own style worked out.
Counting his influences as Anita Baker, Donnie Hathaway, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder & Sam Cooke, his style is R&B fused with rap. It was the rap side that put him on the map. Even in his home town, far from the hip hop hotbeds of Compton and NY, he started rapping to the girls at school. Now he's rapping to girls all over the world! Watch out for the next video out soon.
