NEW YORK (Billboard) - Singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur is
the latest musician to offer his music to fans for free.
After Nine Inch Nails' release of "The Slip" via the band's
official site on Monday (May 5), Arthur has announced that he's
releasing his project "Bag Is Hot" via his Tumblr site,
josepharthur.tumblr.com.
Billed as a "free, ongoing, living record that will last
forever," "Bag Is Hot" currently comprises 11 tracks, with more
to be added on an ongoing basis.
"'Bag is Hot' ... like fresh popcorn for all the kids to
grab," Arthur said in a press release. "Digital hands eating
the digital popcorn."
Arthur has at least three other releases scheduled for
2008: the EPs "Vagabond Skies" (June 10) and "Foreign Girls"
(July 8) and a full-length album, "Temporary People," due
September 16. Arthur will spend most of June on tour in the
United Kingdom; he returns to the United States in July.
